It Took 126 Photos To Fully Capture This Giant 3,200 Year-Old Tree In One Frame

Look at this magnificent tree!

Meet the ‘President’. Judged on mass, the ‘President’ is ‘likely the biggest’ tree on the planet. The giant sequoia tree in California’s Sequoia National Park is 3,200 years old, has 2 billion leaves and stands 247 feet (74 meters) tall.

Using a mounting system made up of ropes, Nichols and his team raised a camera so they could take photos of every part of the 247-foot-tall, 27-foot-wide giant. It took Nichols 32 working days to photograph the tree and stitch the final image together from 126 individual photos, creating the first image of the President captured entirely in one frame.

Capturing the photograph was no easy task, watch the below video to see how it was done.
