A white whale has been spotted off the Victorian coast, sparking hopes the “rock star” humpback Migaloo has returned to Australian waters.
Photos have surfaced showing the whale swimming off Victoria state’s south coast, sending a lot of Migaloo fans into a frenzy. Migaloo was initially sighted in 1991 and has been seen on and off in the Aussie waters ever since.
‘We’re not 100 per cent sure but it could well be him because he is part of the east population that generally migrate this time of year,’ said marine scientist Dr Vanessa Pirotta.
Imagine how lucky you would feel to catch a glimpse of Migaloo with your own eyes. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience.

Migaloo could be on his way north along the east coast of #Australia. A white #whale has been spotted already off Victoria. If this is him, we could see #Migaloo appear once again! If you see him please let us know. Pls respect his space on the water. Media q’s: @VanessaPirotta pic.twitter.com/6O5QLVKIc1
