Photographer Travels To The Coldest Village On Earth Where The Temperature Can Reach -96F (-71.2C)

Welcome to Oymyakon, a remote Siberian village known as the coldest permanently inhabited settlement in the world. Located just a few hundred kilometers from the Arctic Circle and reaching record levels of –71.2°C (–96.16°F).

New Zealand photographer Amos Chapple decided to take a two-day trip from Yakutsk, the world’s coldest big city, to capture everyday life in Oymyakon.
