You may not have heard of quokka before, but chances are you’ve seen photos of these funny animals floating around the internet.
Quokkas come from the same family as kangaroos (called Macropodidae) and live on a handful of small Australian islands such as Rottnest Island and Bald Island.
The quokkas are known as the most cheerful animals in the world due to the happy expression on their face. Due to their expression, tourists often like them, and because of this, they are used to people and have little fear of human contact.
However, they can also sometimes be mean despite their friendliness. As they are used to human contact, they are not afraid to bite us when they feel threatened.
