White Tigress And Lion Fall In Love With Each Other, And Escape Zoo Together

Meet Cameron the lion and Zabu the white tigress who are madly in love with each other.

Cameron and Zabu were born in a roadside zoo in New England in 2000, destined for one purpose: to someday breed in the hope of producing ligers, according to the rescue.

During this time, Cameron was 200 pounds underweight and Zabu had genetic flaws caused by breeding. In 2004, the pair was rescued from the zoo.

“When Zabu and Cameron were rescued, we constructed a large natural enclosure for the two of them to share since they are truly bonded as a couple.” Big Cat Rescue

In the hands of the rescue, however, the two animals were finally safe from any further mistreatment or exploitation.

Once they were rescued, they were moved to a new sanctuary and were kept together. But after a little while, Cameron was getting very possessive of Zabu, which meant he was a threat to his keepers.

“Because Cameron’s behaviors were testosterone-driven we had only two choices; separate him from Zabu forever or neuter him,” the rescue writes. “The decision was easy.”

After Cameron was neutered, he lost his glorious mane, but it was a small price to pay to keep him happy and close to his (very demanding) wife.

The two enjoy each other’s company, running around, nuzzling, and taking peaceful naps.
